Ancestral Floors Inc., founded by Bob Lachance, reflects a lifetime of ambition, dedication and innovation. Bob’s father worked in a large sawmill near Jackman, Maine (USA), where they hunted and went fishing after work. Influenced by his father and their activities, Bob developed a deep appreciation of nature and the lumber industry, thus shaping his future.

In 1980, following an intensive course of study, Bob was awarded a certificate in general forestry and his license as a wood scaler. By the fall of 1984, Bob became the manager of procurement and the head scaler for a Quebec forestry society. He was responsible for 95 million board feet every year. Not content, in 1993, Bob ventured to create “Bob Forest Products Inc.” and by 2001, is manufacturing larch flooring, the trademark of Ancestral Floors today.

Extensive research and development has placed Ancestral Floors at the forefront worldwide in the manufacture of pre-oiled flooring. Bob has brought the consumer the highest quality, most innovative flooring choice available today.

A third generation is right around the corner as we often see William following in his father’s footsteps and his love of nature.
